At Salt Lake Central Park a 10th-grade girl, identified as Alina Bhattacharya from AE Block, tragically lost her life while participating in a breath-holding competition in the swimming pool. Alina, who arrived at the swimming pool around 10 am, engaged in the competition with herself, attempting to hold her breath underwater.

Despite briefly surfacing from the water once or twice, she failed to emerge for an extended period, raising concerns among onlookers that she might be suffocating underwater. Upon realizing the severity of the situation, fellow swimmers and park staff retrieved Alina from the pool, where she was found unconscious. Despite immediate medical attention and transportation to Bidhannagar Sub-District Hospital, doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival.
